Whilst we can
Challenge God to Keep His Word -
we are not to rely on the Physical Assurance first but move by the Spirit
Ezekiel 36:26-27 (King James Version)
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
1) What is the common formula?
“Lord if you want me to do this – then you do that so I’ll know it’s you!” or “if it’s not you – then shut that door!
Christians who do this must have a new Bible that reads:
“For as many as are led by fleeces, they are the children of God” but the real Word does not say this
Romans 8:14 (King James Version)
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
But Gideon put out a fleece!
But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Even in the O.T. it seemed to be a special case and requested in the context of Gideon being aware of God’s anger!
Judges 6:39 (King James Version)
And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.
It would seem Gideon was a waverer – is that what you are? But God still saw him in a different way!
Judges 6:11-13 (King James Version)
And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the wine press, to hide it from the Midianites.
And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.
And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
James 1:5-8 (King James Version)
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
2) What is forgotten? –
The god of the physical realm will oblige to a physical request!
2 Corinthians 4:4 (King James Version)
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
3) What about the Biblical Prohibition of putting God to the test?
There are consequences too for not believing.
Deuteronomy 6:16 (King James Version)
Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
Luke 4:12 (King James Version)
And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
1 Corinthians 10:9 (King James Version)
Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
Numbers 21:6 (King James Version)
And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Luke 1:18-20 (King James Version)
And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.
And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.
And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.
We are to simply trust God and not put him to the test.
Proverbs 3:5-8 (King James Version)
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
Discern between the
Witness and the Inward Voice
Psalm 18:28 (King James Version)
For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
The differential between rhema & logos
The differential between the “letter” and “the spirit”
The IMPORTANCE OFWAITING ON GOD for the inner witness
Isaiah 28:16 (King James Version)
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
Being prepared to act without heed of natural consequence
THE INWARD VOICE
Romans 9:1 (King James Version)
I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
* THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING AT PEACE, PROPER REST and in readiness to hear the inward voice
Psalm 127:2 (King James Version)
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
Ephesians 1:6 (King James Version)
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
POINT 13: The Call to Divide
Government on our shoulders as the Body of Christ –not to compromise our position but to have authority and this includes the clear Biblical authority to cause division – the call of every true Minister of God; division between flesh and spirit, between God and Baal.
Isaiah 9:5-7 King James Version (KJV)
For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
1 Corinthians 12:26-28 King James Version(KJV)
And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
1 John 4:17 King James Version (KJV)
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
Luke 12:51-53 King James Version (KJV)
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
2 Corinthians 6:14-16 King James Version(KJV)
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath het hat believeth with an infidel?
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
The True Unity – Union with Christ Jesus
John 1:21-22 King James Version (KJV)
And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
Ephesians 5:26-32 King James Version (KJV)
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
1 Corinthians 6:17-20 King James Version(KJV)
But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Hebrews 3:14 King James Version (KJV)
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
1 Peter 1:16-19 King James Version (KJV)
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
2 Peter 1:3-5 King James Version (KJV)
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
